The CSA Z1006-Aligned Confined Space Awareness Online Training & Certification program is designed for employers, contractors, and agencies who need to train their Canadian employees, contractors, and temp employees who work in or around confined spaces.

Who This Training Is For

Confined spaces exist in nearly every Canadian industry, and many workplaces have more of them than workers realize. Canadian OHS regulations require employers to provide confined space awareness training to any worker whose job brings them near confined spaces, not just the workers who participate in an entry.

This course is intended for:

  • Maintenance teams, machine operators, facilities staff, utility workers, general labourers, and other workers whose jobs bring them near tanks, silos, pits, vaults, manholes, and other confined spaces.
  • Workers on construction sites where excavations, new structures, and ongoing work can create confined spaces.
  • Supervisors and team leads responsible for workers in areas with confined spaces.
  • Workers due for confined space awareness refresher training.
  • Contractors and site personnel who need documented confined space awareness training before being permitted to work at a site.
  • Employers standardizing confined space training programs across multiple provinces, sites, or shifts.
  • Canadian organizations who need to integrate SCORM confined space training into their internal learning management system (LMS).

The confined space awareness online training program for workers is designed in alignment with the CSA Z1006 Management of work in confined spaces standard . It is organized into four progressive modules, building from confined space identification, standards, and roles through hazard recognition to confined space programs, safe work practices, and rescue and emergency response.

Each module concludes with a quiz to confirm comprehension before trainees advance to the next module.
